Emil Guillermo: Bill Cosby shows that some black lives do matter…too much. Cosby used his fame, wealth, good deeds, and for good measure “Heathcliff Huxtable” as his “sitcom shield” to make sure he got favored treatment from the law in the past. No more. Last year’s unsealing of his deposition in his 2006 case is the “new evidence” for Pennsylvania prosecutors to finally act last week.

A pre-trial hearing is set for Jan.14.  Cosby’s  lawyers, reports say, declare the comedian’s  innocence and say there will be no plea bargain.
But Cosby’s  de facto “trial” by  media for  the  betrayal of trust with his audience, his community, his beneficiaries, and  the public at large, has already begun.
He doesn’t seem to have much of a leg to stand on without the advantage of his “Huxtable” shield.  Or without the aid of those in law enforcement who seemed to have been  very willing to give him a pass.
